Tekno Suffering Ailment, May Not Sing Again -Ubi Franklin

Triple MG boss, Ubi Franklin has called for prayers on behalf of Nigerian Singer, Tekno, who has been absent for months in the music industry. In a statement released on his Instagram, Ubi said Tekno has been battling with an ailment. Ubi disclosed that Tekno’s vocal box has been temporarily damaged and he may not be able to sing or perform for a period of time. Ubi wrote that the singer will be off singing for a while according to doctors recommendation in order to recover. Dino Melaye , senator representing Kogi west, says President Muhammadu Buhari is not mentally and physically equipped to govern Nigeria. Speaking at The Osasu Symposium in Abuja on Thursday, Melaye said the national assembly has been accused of delaying the budget, where “in fact”, the fault lies with the executive. Earlier, Rotimi Amaechi, Transportation minister, had said Buhari signs laws in the interest of Nigerians and any law he rejects is also in the interest of the country. UNIZIK Opens Chinese Study Centre In Ebonyi

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka, Anambra State, has established a teaching centre of the Confucius Institute at the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu in Ebonyi State. This followed a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor (VC), Prof Joseph Ahaneku, and the Provost of the college, Prof Justina Mgbada, for the setting up of an institute for Chinese studies in the college. Speaking during the tour of the facility, the VC explained that the institute would afford people within the catchment area an opportunity to learn mandarin, noting that it would go a long way in assisting most of them in doing business with the Chinese. Prof Ahaneku said the establishment of the teaching point is in line with his administration’s resolve to give the Chinese programme a national outlook. American woman allegedly kills her 2-month-old daughter by throwing her out of a moving car 

A mother from California has been hospitalized after she allegedly killed her baby girl by throwing her out of a moving car. Nicole Stasio, 32, who had worked as a yoga instructor and health coach, gave birth to her child just two months earlier in Bali but she allegedly killed the child then tried to later commit suicide. A guide and driver allegedly told local authorities that Stasio had been in Bali since July. Her parents had joined her for the first 10 days of her trip but they left before Stasio welcomed her daughter in September. On Tuesday, Stasio  planned to return to California. But, according to her driver Wayan Siaj and tour guide Made Arimbawa, both of whom had been with Stasio throughout the duration of her trip, she changed her mind and asked them to take her back to the town of Ubud. INEC Denies Reports Of New PVC Registration

The Independent Electoral Commission on Wednesday denied the reports that the commission will begin the registration of permanent voters card again ahead of the February election. The electoral body disclosed this in a tweet. “Information reaching the Commission that some persons have been circulating messages online that “INEC HAS GIVING ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO REGISTER FOR YOUR PVC, STARTING ON THE 2ND TO 10TH DECEMBER 2018”, INEC tweeted. “The report is untrue and we advise the public to ignore it.” The commission had begun the CVR exercise on April the 27th, 2017 and fixed August the 17th, 2018 as the closing date. That deadline was extended by two weeks which ended on August the 31st. Although several appeals were made seeking a further extension of the CVR amidst long queues across registration points, INEC said the extension is impossible. ASUU Strike Update!

A meeting between the Nigerian government and university lecturers has ended Thursday evening without resolution of the nationwide strike by the teachers. The teachers said the strike which began on November 4 would continue. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) called the strike over its demands for improved funding of universities and welfare of lecturers. Thursday’s meeting began 3p.m and ended 8:15 p.m. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said government’s discussion with ASUU will continue next week . Mr Ngige earlier said the meeting with the university teachers was late in coming due to the minimum wage negotiation. He appealed to ASUU to put the interests of student as who are at the receiving end into consideration. ASUU president, Biodun Ogunyemi, said the union have tendered its request and also said the meeting has been adjourned till next week. Breaking News: Court Stops NLC, TUC's Planned Strike!

According to a Punch Metro report, the National Industrial Court of Nigeria has ordered the organised labour, comprising the Nigerian Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress not to embark on its indefinite strike scheduled to commence on November 6. Justice Sanusi Kado, on Friday, gave the order in a ruling on an ex parte application moved on behalf of the Federal Government by the Solicitor-General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Justice, Mr. Dayo Apata. Agreeing with Apata, Justice Kado ruled that if the strike is allowed it would lead to huge economic loss to both public and private institutions and could jeopardise the health of many Nigerians who would not be able to access health facilities during the period. The organised labour had threatened to commence an indefinite strike action to press for the increase in the national minimum wage from the current N18,000.
