Hausa Man Divorces His Wife For Insisting On Voting For Buhari In The Upcoming Election

A Nigerian man, Abdullahi Yada’u, a resident of Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State, has revealed to BBC Hausa Service on Thursday why he divorced his wife, Hafsat Suleiman. According to Yada'u, he divorced her because she insisted on voting for Mr Buhari. He tried convincing his wife not to vote for the incumbent president and when he didn’t succeed in convincing her, he divorced her. Yada’u said he and his wife both supported president Buhari when he contested in the 2015 elections. But he feels disappointed with the administration and has decided not to vote for him again. He narrated:  “I told her that she must not vote for him but she insisted which led to a quarrel which attracted the attention of our neighbours, I slapped her and told her to choose between voting for Buhari and staying with me. She ran away.” Later her parents called me and I narrated to them what transpired between us. But still my wife insisted on voting for Mr B...

Saraki: Onoghen’s Suspension, A Coup Against Democracy!

Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has described the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Walter Onoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari, as a coup against democracy and a deliberate attempt to endanger our hard-won democracy. Saraki, in a statement personally  signed by him stated that the suspension was another act of desperation by President Buhari. He noted that by the suspension of the CJN, Buhari has acted outside the provision of the constitution, has exercised the powers which he does not have and that this action amounted to gross misconduct. “This is an action aimed at undermtining the nation’s judiciary, subverting the constitution, intimidating judges of all the courts of record, and creating uncertainty in the electoral process, thereby laying the  foundation for influencing the outcome of litigations that might arise from next month’s elections. “There are already the general belief that this hasty action was...

What To Know About Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure

As an SDGs Ambassador, I want to take out time to discuss what I call the T hree I's of a successful Entrepreneurship which are Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure. According to the English Dictionary, the word Industry can be defined as an "economic activity concerned with the processing of raw materials and manufacture of goods in factories" Wikipedia defines Innovation as a "new idea, creative thoughts, new imaginations in form of device or method". However, innovation is often also viewed as the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs, or existing market needs. The same English Dictionary defines infrastructure as "the basic physical and organizational structures and facilities needed for the operation of a society or enterprise." From the above definitions, we can see that that these Three I's of entrepreneurship (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) are interrelated in the sense that t...

Atiku Abubakar: My Reason For Not Participating In The 2019 Presidential debate!

We came here for a Presidential debate, not a candidacy debate, and I, Atiku Abubakar can not challenge or question an administration where the man at the helm of the affairs of the nation is not present to defend himself or his policies. After all you cannot shave a man's head in his absence. I do not believe in attacking a man who is NOT here to defend himself. As a leader and former vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, let me first apologise to all Nigerians, my fellow candidates and the moderator for the the APC Presidential Candidates absence in this debate. His non-appearance is a slight on ALL of us and our democracy. Secondly, with all due respect to my fellow candidates, Fela Durotoye, Oby Ezekwesili,  Kingsley Moghalu and to the moderator Mark Sugar and with apologies to all Nigerians here and at home expecting an interesting debate, I regret that I will not be able to go on with this debate due to President Buhari's absence. I however challenge Presid...
