Hi guys, I'm back again. In continuation from my last post, today I'm going to talk about the major ethnic groups of Benue state and how they differentiate themselves. The state is populated by several ethnic groups: Tiv, Idoma, Igede, Etulo, Abakpa, Jukun, Hausa, Igbo, Akweya and Nyifon. The Tiv are occupying 14 local government areas with the Etulo and Jukun , with the Idoma, Igede, Igbo, Akweya and Nyifon occupying nine. wikipedia For the purpose of my limited knowledge I'll be concentrating on the Tiv and Idoma ethnic groups. The Tivs have the largest population in Benue state, hence they form a better part of their government. They are popularly identified with their colour of traditional clothing which is black and white stripes. Intro ... Hello guys, it's been a while... Firstly, I want to apologise for being away for so long. I am so sorry for the break, I had to focus on my final year and all the wahala that comes with it.. you know, project, seminars and all. But I'm back now and I hope I haven't lost my readers yet🙏 So, I wrote my final exams, graduated from the University, fast forward to NYSC posting. Hmm I was posted to Benue State (Food basket of the Nation). I am actually suffering from that now because I'm getting fat😒...but I'm not worried Sha, my flesh adding no dey get head( story of my life).🤦 I can't really say I am completely strange to Benue state. I wrote my JAMB here and my Brother married from here too so I guess I'm not completely alien to the state in as much as I'm not too familiar with it.
